Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) for the bi-directional amplification of public-safety radio communication has become a requirement for all new buildings four floors and higher and all new sub-terrain parking structures in most municipalities.
DAS networks can also be used for the bi-directional amplification of wireless carrier networks. Increasingly, new construction techniques using more steel reinforced concrete and energy efficient glass windows block wireless carrier signals making it difficult to communicate with mobile devices.
